What the EPD covers
The EPD describes the environmental impacts of the product across its life cycle. For TAVINOX products, the stages included are mainly:
- • A1–A3 – raw materials, manufacturing and related processes,
- • A4 – transport to site,
- • A5 – installation and handling of packaging,
- • C1–C4 – end of life: dismantling, sorting, recycling or disposal,
- • D – benefits and loads beyond the system boundary, in particular those relating to recycling.
Stages B1–B7 are excluded for these products, because tubes and fittings are passive parts of the system and, in normal operation, require no further inputs or maintenance that would be included in the EPD calculation.
The EPD for TAVINOX tubes
The EPD for TAVINOX – Stainless steel welded tubes covers stainless steel welded tubes. The declared scope includes tubes:
- • in diameters from 15 to 108 mm,
- • with a wall thickness of 1.0 to 2.0 mm,
- • in a standard length of 6,000 mm.
The declared unit is 1 tonne of finished stainless steel tube. TAVINOX tubes are made of stainless steel and are used for MEP pipework and other applications where material resistance, a long service life and system stability matter. The declared unit is 1 kg of finished stainless steel press fitting. TAVINOX PRESS fittings are intended for use in pipework for:

- • cooling,
- • compressed air,
- • industrial applications.
For TAVINOX PRESS fittings, the EPD states an 80% share of post-consumer recycled material in the stainless steel.
