Material verification
directly on site

Up to 70% of the stainless steel on the market comes from recycled scrap. Are you sure that the material on your site is the one you ordered?

Professional analysis of the chemical composition of any metal — non-destructive, on site, with a report.

Handheld VANTA V2CR XRF analyser for verifying material on site

Who needs material verification?

Anyone who wants certainty about the quality of the material on their site.

1

Investor

Protection of your investment. Check that the contractor has used the material specified in the design — not a cheaper substitute made from recycled scrap.

2

Site supervisor

Evidence for the handover of the works. A measurement report with the chemical composition of every point — for the handover file and final approval.

3

Installation company

Proof of the quality of your work. Offer the measurement to your client as part of the service — a competitive advantage in tenders.

How the measurement works

1

You book the measurement

Call us or fill in the form. We will agree a date and the scope.

2

We come to your site

A technician with the VANTA V2CR analyser comes directly to your site. Anywhere in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

3

We take the measurements

Professional analysis of every point on site. A non-destructive method that leaves the surface undamaged.

4

Report

You receive a report with the chemical composition, a conformity or non-conformity finding and photographic documentation.

We measure any metallic material

The VANTA V2CR analyser covers the elements Mg–U (the whole periodic table). From stainless steel to titanium.

Stainless steel

316L, 304L, 304, 316Ti, 321, duplex

Distinguished by the Mo, Cr and Ni content — the key to spotting 304 supplied as 316L

Carbon steel

S235, S355, 11 523, 12 050

Verification of the steel grade and of the C, Mn, Si, P and S content

Copper alloys

CuZn, CuSn, CuNi, bronze, brass

Precise determination of the Zn, Sn and Ni content to identify the alloy

Aluminium alloys

6060, 6063, 6082, 7075

Structural and decorative alloys distinguished by their Si, Mg, Cu and Zn content

Titanium and nickel

Ti Grade 2/5, Inconel, Hastelloy

Special alloys for the chemical and power industries

Welds and transition zones

HAZ, mixing zone

Checking weld penetration, contamination of the parent material and weld dilution

Measurement report

After every measurement you receive an official report containing:

1
Identification of every measured point (number, location, photograph)
2
Chemical composition — the percentage of the key elements (Cr, Ni, Mo, Mn, Si…)
3
Determination of the material grade (AISI 316L, 304L, S235…)
4
Conformity or non-conformity with the material specified in the design
5
Photographic documentation of the measurement points
6
Name and signature of the technician, date of measurement

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an on-site measurement cost?

The price is based on the technician's call-out charge and the number of measurement points. Contact us for an individual quotation — it depends on the location and the scope.

How long does a measurement take?

A complete check of a typical site, including the report, fits into half a day. It depends on the number of measurement points and how accessible they are.

Where do you provide the service?

Throughout the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The technician comes directly to your site.

Is the measurement destructive?

No. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis is a completely non-destructive method — the instrument is simply held against the surface, with no damage to the material.

Can a finished installation be measured?

Yes. We also measure pipework, fittings and structures that are already installed. All we need is access to the surface of the material — nothing has to be dismantled.

How accurate is the measurement?

The VANTA V2CR is a professional instrument with a resolution of < 137 eV. It reliably tells 316L from 304L, and both from inferior stainless steels made from recycled scrap.

Do you have doubts about the material on your site?

We will measure it for you. A technician with a professional VANTA V2CR analyser comes directly to your site. You receive a stamped report.
