In-house accredited laboratory inside our production plant
Quality of TAVINOX fittings does not begin at the end of the production line – it runs through every step, from incoming material inspection to the simulation of decades of service. Our factory operates an extensive accredited laboratory right inside the production facility. Every product is tested where it is manufactured – with no intermediaries and no external test providers.
What this means for you
Every batch inspected in the same facility where it is made — not weeks later, not at the customer site.
- An independent accredited laboratory with complete instrumentation for fittings, piping systems, materials and dimensional calibration.
- Every production batch is inspected in the same facility where it is made – laboratory-to-production feedback is immediate.
- Beyond internal control, TAVINOX fittings have passed rigorous independent testing at DVGW (Germany), ITC (Czech Republic) and PAVUS (Czech Republic).
Overview of testing processes and equipment
Chemical and material analysis
- Spectrometer
- Chemical composition analysis of stainless steel, carbon steel, brass bar and castings.
- X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF)
- Non-destructive element composition and coating thickness analysis, including curved surfaces and thread areas.
- Optical universal hardness tester
- Surface hardness measurement by Vickers and Rockwell methods.
- Profile Tracer
- Precise surface profile measurement – angles, radii, slopes.
Pressure and leak testing
- Water pressure test bench
- Verification of joint tightness and strength under water pressure – no leaks, no deformation.
- Air pressure test bench
- Leak test by submerging a fitting in water under air pressure.
- Vacuum test
- Leak check under negative pressure between fitting and pipe.
- Hydraulic pulse test rig
- Cyclic high/low pressure loading – tightness under pressure surges.
- Hydraulic vibration test rig
- Vibration under internal pressure – dynamic loading simulation.
- Hydraulic bending moment test
- Joint bending under internal pressure.
- Burst test
- Ultimate pressure strength verification.
Life cycle and environment simulation
- Cold/hot water cycle test
- Rapid temperature alternation simulating real service – reveals press joint fatigue.
- High/low temperature cycling chamber
- Cycling below 0 °C and above normal – detects leak risk from thermal expansion.
- High-temperature furnace
- Up to 532 °C with ±1 °C accuracy – isothermal, gradient and thermal-shock modes.
- Constant high/low temperature chamber
- Steady-state temperature testing.
- Aging test chamber
- Long-term hydraulic destructive testing.
Corrosion and weathering resistance
- UV weathering chamber
- Simulation of UV, condensation and rainfall – evaluates colour loss, gloss, cracking, chalking.
- Salt-spray corrosion testers
- Corrosion resistance of metal surface finishes.
Mechanical tests
- Universal electronic testing machine
- Tension, compression, bending, shear and low-cycle fatigue tests.
- Drop hammer
- Impact resistance of pipes and plastic products.
Press joint-specific tests
- Leak Before Press chamber
- Verifies that an un-pressed joint provably leaks – a safeguard against a forgotten press.
- Pipeline Pressure Leakage Tester
- High- and low-pressure leak testing with both air and hydraulic media.
Two-level quality control
1. Internal control in our own accredited laboratory at the plant
Continuous testing of every production batch – chemistry, pressure tests, life cycle simulation, corrosion, thermal cycling.
2. Independent verification by renowned European test houses
TAVINOX fittings have successfully passed demanding tests at:
- DVGW (Deutsche Vereinigung des Gas- und Wasserfaches) – German authority for gas and water.
- ITC Zlín (Institute for Testing and Certification) – Czech accredited testing body.
- PAVUS – Czech authority for fire safety in buildings.
Why it matters to designers, installers and investors
- Every type of fitting we make has been tested – testing is not a one-off certification, but part of continuous quality control.
- A laboratory on the production site means that any deviation is immediately corrected in the process – not later as a customer complaint.
- Full life-cycle coverage – from material composition through press joint tightness to aging, corrosion and thermal fatigue.
- Third-party verification – DVGW, ITC and PAVUS independently confirm what the internal lab measures daily.
Combining strict internal control in our own laboratory with independent testing by recognised European institutions creates a double quality safeguard that many competing products on the market do not offer.
