The EPDM flat gasket is made from EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), colour black. The EPDM flat gasket is a special sealing element for the flat-gasket threaded connections of the TAVINOX PRESS system. It is used together with union fittings such as the OB12FG elbows and the SR10FG adaptors. The gasket provides reliable leak-tightness of the threaded joint in water, heating media and fire protection applications. The long-term operating temperature range is −55 °C to +120 °C. The material offers: very good resistance to water (cold and hot), good resistance to steam, high ageing resistance, very good resistance to ozone and UV radiation, good resistance to alkalis and cleaning agents and suitability for MEP (building services) and fire sprinkler applications. The EPDM flat gasket is suitable for threaded connections with a flat gasket, FxG fittings, drinking water pipework, cold and hot water pipework, heating systems, technical pipework and fire protection and sprinkler systems. It is not intended for applications with mineral oils and fuels, applications outside the chemical compatibility of the medium, press joints (the PRESS system) and extreme operating conditions outside the recommended range. The DVGW, ITC, PAVUS, ÖVGW, ACS, WRAS, EPD, ISO and CCZ certifications cover use in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Germany and Poland. Selected applications meet the requirements for fixed fire-fighting installations — provided that the requirements of the relevant standard are met and the system is certified. The EPDM flat gasket is intended solely for FxG threaded joints (for example the OB12FG and SR10FG fittings). It is not a seal for press joints — the joint is sealed by tightening the threaded connection.
